Fix Structured Data Errors Showing in Google Search Console (Webmaster Tools). Missing: author, Missing: entry-title, Missing: updated are Missing required hCard / hEntry error which need to be resolved while developing a wordpress theme by scratch.

By default themes supprts these classes to provide informative details to the google search engine..which is a primary search engine for bog posts. If you don’t have these classes your information like title, updated and author will be missing from google search.

You’ll notice the errors (after selecting the site in question on your dashboard) in Search Console (Webmaster Tools) under Search Appearance > Structured Data. You will see errors saying that certain pages are:

Missing: author
Missing: entry-title
Missing: updated

Its highly recommended in terms of SEO use to provide these information. You can follow below steps to resolve these errors.

Missing: author

  1. Search for the_author() in the content.php or its families and  it should be look like this
    <span class="author_name"><?php the_author(); ?></span><br>
  2. Replace this with
    <span class="vcard author author_name"><span class="fn"><?php the_author(); ?></span></span><br>

Missing: entry-title

  1. Search for
    <h2><?php the_title(); ?></h2>
  2. You have to add the class entry-title so replace with
    <h2 class="entry-title"><?php the_title(); ?></h2>

Missing: updated

  1. Search for
    <?php the_date(); ?>
  2. Replace with
    <span class="post-date updated"><?php the_date(); ?></span>

You’ll need to be logged in to Search Console (Webmaster Tools) to access that page properly.
